Welcome to my website! Allow me to introduce myself. I am a sophomore attending North Carolina State University. I am from Mooresville, North Carolina, which is about 2 1/2 hours from Raleigh. I am the second oldest of four children and the only girl of my family. I have 3 tattoos (and counting) and my Medusa piece is my favorite. I currently live with my 5-year-old chihuahua, Dax, who loves to cuddle, play fetch, and take evening walks in downtown Raleigh.
I am currently majoring in English with a concentration in language, writing, and rhetoric. I am not minoring in anything at the moment, but I may choose to double major in the future. Public Relations would be my second major.
My dream job is to work for a editing/publishing firm as a copyeditor. I would love to work with fiction novelists, but am not too particular on what medium I edit. Additionally, I am also interested in social media marketing. After reading chapters 1 and 2 of "Nicely Said," I would most enjoy writing for a company/agency or freelance writing. The research and interview process excites me because it allows me to explore different places and meet new people, all while doing something I am passionate about.
Rhetoric is a subcomponent of my major, so it is vital that I understand all that it entails. Being an aspiring writer, it is important for me to know how to write for different audiences as well as how to promote/sell a product or an artist's work. Design is equally as important to me because it will allow me to present my writing in an appropriate, professional way. I also enjoy the creative writing process, in which design plays a major role. I am an organized and artistic individual, so design conmplements my personality well.
